October isn’t even close to being over yet, and it looks like I have another busy month ahead!
It’s time for me to go back to Emirates Aviation College for a few days for what we call SEP; our annual Safety and Emergency Procedures training. Cabin Crew must attend this each year in order to renew our licenses so that we may continue flying.
When I’m not preparing for this, I will be operating flights to:
Toronto, Canada (home!) 🇨🇦
Malé, Maldives (Turnaround) 🇲🇻
Trivandrum, India * 🇮🇳
Dallas, United States 🇺🇸
Ahmedabad, India (Turnaround) 🇮🇳
* = New destination
I also have “Business Promotions” listed on my roster. This means I will be representing Emirates in some capacity next month too.
Lastly, November 4th will officially mark my 2 years anniversary with Emirates! I’m not sure if I’ll have much time to celebrate, but I’ve accomplished a lot since being here and I’m looking forward to sharing more of these amazing experiences with you in the years to come.
This year, I attended the Face (Flight Attendant Club of Emirates) Crystal Ball. Described as the “prom” of Emirates, it gives Cabin Crew and management the opportunity to get all dolled up and enjoy a an evening of elegance, dancing, dinner and entertainment.
Fortunately for my group of friends, Beautiful People of Dubai gave us the full VIP experience. We were treated to a limo ride to the venue, joined by our own videographer and photographer to capture the occasion (more images and video to come). Lyze and I were also spoiled by Blow Out Bar, as they styled our hair for the evening.
It was a great night, but unfortunately it was cut short for me because I had an early morning departure to Bahrain! #CrewLife
Exciting news! –I’m pleased to share with you guys that I will be speaking at Simply Stylist, an international fashion and beauty conference that will be taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Oct.12, 2017.
Simply Stylist seeks to connect taste makers with brands, agencies, overseas networks and other like minded individuals.
I’m looking forward to sitting on a bloggers panel as a ‘travel expert’, where I will be discussing how I began blogging, the tools I used to build an audience and the collaborations I have been a part of.
If you would like to attend this event, tickets can be purchased here.
You just never know who you are going to meet on board! On a recent flight to Johannesburg, South Africa I met a customer who I’m going to refer to as Mae.
Mae was travelling a great distance alone (from Dublin to Dubai to Johannesburg) and was returning home from a visit with her family. It was her first time flying with us, so my colleagues and I did our best to make the trip special for her!
It turns out that Mae is an elementary school teacher, who teaches grades 3/4. She told us that she is looking forward to sharing her travel stories with her students and that she couldn’t wait to show them her Emirates souvenir- a photo that we took of her on board. I told her that I couldn’t wait to show you guys mine too!
Do you have any cool passenger stories from on board? If so, please share them with me in the comments below!
While I eagerly await the delivery of my home YouTube studio set-up, I thought I’d edit and share some old video footage with you guys!
This was taken in Auckland, New Zealand during my first time skydiving! I loved the whole experience and would do it again in a heartbeat despite the awkward facial expressions you make when you free fall.
